This place has some of the BEST luxury dinner sets for big parties. I absolutely their selection of sashimi. The staff is super friendly, and there's plenty of seating so the wait is never too bad. There are also private rooms which you can reserve for big groups. They also have good deals and they're a fusion restaurant so there are plenty of good options for folks who don't like raw food.

Background On Shop: Chinese owned Japanese restaurant. PROMOTIONS: 1) Tuesdays: Half off spicy yellowtail 2) Wednesdays: Half off Lobster 3) Thursdays: Grill yellowtail collar 4) Fridays: Half off fatty tuna. We came for Wednesday...1/2 price lobster promo deal ($22.95). CREDIT CARDS: They're being accepted. RESTROOMS: They're available. LOCATION/PARKING: Located in a decent size plaza next to Red99. Decent amount of parking can be found in the plaza. AMBIANCE/DECOR: Ambiance was pretty good with plenty of modern furnishings to eat and sit on. They also have a couple of private rooms. SERVICE: Service was pretty good. Javier was friendly and attentive. I found him pretty intriguing because he was speaking mandarin to the patrons. Food didn't take long to come out. FOOD OF CHOICE: For every table, edamame is provided. You can also ask for salted peanuts. They also provide dessert (taro tapioca dessert) 1) Lobster: You can choose the lobster to be cooked two different ways. We decided on the lobster sashimi and porridge . Once the sashimi part is already devoured, they'll take the lobster back to the kitchen and cook the remaining lobster into porridge. Everything was fresh and porridge had good flavor. Order also comes with a small side salad and miso soup. 2) 2 Item Bento: They don't put the items in a bento box like other places. So don't feel sad/depressed like how I felt when I didn't see one. The two items that were chosen were the spicy tuna rolls and salmon collar. The offerings were good. I enjoyed eating the salmon collar the most. Icho Izakaya For Thought: I wouldn't mind coming back to try other items on the menu. I am kinda eying the grill yellowtail collar. Half off on Thursdays! Oh yeaaaaah! Lastly, I would also like to try their shabu shabu.

We have previously visited this establishment a few times. They offer lunch specials on a daily basis, currently offering two options for $16.95. Currently, we are enjoying sashimi with beef teriyaki and tempura roll with pork katsu. Additionally, we order chicken udon due to our children's preference against raw fish. The meal comes with soup, salad, and rice. Each table is provided with edamame prior to the order. Currently, they are offering a 10% discount. This offer represents an excellent deal. The service was exceptional and exceptionally attentive. Their decor is quite attractive and there is ample space for a private party. Furthermore, this establishment is ideal for children as it is also family-friendly. We highly recommend it!

Located in the bustling heart of Temple City, Icho Izakaya offers an inviting atmosphere and a delightful Japanese dining experience. The authentic decor, featuring traditional Japanese elements, sets the perfect ambiance for an enjoyable meal. During my visit, I ordered the bento box, which was a highlight. It came with an assortment of fresh sashimi and perfectly crispy shrimp tempura. Each piece of sashimi was fresh and melted in my mouth, while the tempura was light and flavorful. The bento box also included a complimentary miso soup and a crisp salad, which complemented the main components beautifully. We also tried some items from the grill menu, which did not disappoint. The grilled dishes were expertly prepared, with a nice balance of flavors that showcased the quality of the ingredients. The service at Icho Izakaya was exceptional, with our waiter providing attentive and friendly service throughout the meal. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made thoughtful recommendations, ensuring we had a memorable dining experience. Overall, Icho Izakaya is a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in Temple City. With its delicious food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service, it's a place I would highly recommend.

Love coming here and has been my go to weekly stop for dinner!! The service is really great since they make it yellowtail collar really fresh. The Japanese decor and open plan makes it very welcoming and there's plenty of private rooms for those special private gatherings. look for their weekly specials. I believe this month in May they have a combo meal of sashimi and one of the rolls for 17$! Such a great bargain. Everything is fresh and filling. Come check this place out!

Been here twice with family and my infant baby. Definitely think this place is infant friendly. We love the salted and pepper intestines. But the second time we ordered it was too dry. The sushi and sashimi are fresh and price are reasonable. Weekdays they have different special which we tried the toro hand rolls they are amazing.

I was pleasantly surprised by the private dining at Icho Izakaya. I came for a friend's birthday dinner where a private room was reserved. The room had an attached private bathroom just for our use and a large flat screen tv with a karaoke system. There is no corkage fee for bottles which is a plus. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu to share. All of the dishes from the seafood, steak, sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, and hot pot were freshly prepared. Every dish was delicious! Service was great and consistent throughout the night. Staff would check in every now and then to see if we needed anything and would immediately remove anything we were done with and bring anything we needed. I would highly recommend the private dining for any group gatherings or celebrations. It was nice to have our own space for the night and food and service were exceptional.

:: Food :: We ordered the assorted sashimi (large), shabu shabu (prime beef set), spicy chicken, uni fried rice, tonkatsu, and hand rolls. There was complementary salad and dessert. All of the dishes were really good. The sashimi was fresh, the shabu shabu broth was flavorful, and the uni fried rice was probably my favorite, it had just the right amount of sweet (the seafood kind) from the uni and chopped onions. The rice was good but pretty expensive for what it was imo. :: Service :: Our server was super patient with us and the food came out surprisingly super fast. I felt like once we placed our order, each dish came within minutes. How? I thought it was kind of fancy that they offer bottled water for customers, seemed more sanitary. It's nice that they have daily specials (Tuesday-Friday only). We came on a Friday so we took advantage of the toro hand roll deal, they were pretty generous with the toro filling, so much so that two of my family members couldn't finish it because it was too filling for them, no pun intended. :: Parking :: There's usually ample parking in this plaza so it shouldn't be an issue. :: Restroom :: Yes, there are restrooms. :: Tip :: They have paper menus as well as an iPad, where you're able to see how each dish looks like, so that helps a lot.
